Varaha Dwadashi commemorates the Appearance Day of Lord VarahaDev, the third Avatar of Lord Vishnu.

As with every Avatar, Lord VarahaDev's incarnation had a significant purpose. During the beginning of a Kalp, the earth was submerged in the Garbhodakshaya ocean by the demon Hiranyaksha. Lord Brahma contemplated the earth's revival. Suddenly, a tiny boar emerged from his nostril, growing into a gigantic & transcendentally ferocious creature that plunged into the ocean.

With His mighty strength, Lord VarahaDev fought against Hiranyaksha and finally killed the demon, liberating the earth from the ocean. Then, with His tusks, He lifted the earth and restored it to its original position.

This incredible feat marked the beginning of life on earth, and Lord VarahaDev is revered for saving humanity and restoring the earth.

Devotees worship Lord VarahaDev on this day, offering prayers and performing rituals to seek His blessings and protection. It's a significant occasion in the Hindu calendar, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the restoration of order in the universe.
